Alveolar process remodeling

One of the stages of preparing the jaw or mandible for the fixation of the prosthetic material (crown, bridge, prosthesis) is the appropriate modeling of its structure. In order to achieve this goal, in some cases proper profiling of the alveolar process becomes necessary. The alveolar process is the part of the jaw bone in which the teeth are mounted. Its development can be varied in each patient and may depend on the current condition of the patient’s teeth. Therefore, the dental prosthetist selects the best and least invasive method on an individual basis, owing to which the fixation of the prosthetic material will be most optimal and comfortable for the patient.
