Endodontics, often commonly referred to – both among doctors and patients – as root canal treatment, is an area of conservative dentistry, which deals with the diagnosis and treatment of dental pulp diseases and the diagnosis and treatment of apical diseases.
Endodontic treatment is recommended for very deep cavities, necrosis of the pulp, after fracture or dislocation of the tooth, for prosthetic indications – prior to using a crown or bridge. Root canal treatment is performed with the use of very thin (0.06-0.40mm) files. The size, length and depth of canals is measured using a special device called the endometer. After measuring and preparation, root canals are filled with gutta-percha and sealers.
In endodontic treatments, we apply the leading-class surgical microscope SmartOPTIC, which gives the doctor full insight into the tooth chamber and canals, as well as latest equipment for preparation and thermal filling of root canals. Simultaneously to microscopic treatment, X-Ray diagnosis is applied.
